Spellbound

By FrogCity on January 11, 2026 9:17 pm

There's a section with a non-resolving cadence in this one, so I highly recommend wearing headphones if impressionable children under the age of 12 are around.

Feeling good after a second beat and extract. Lot of errands to run this week, so this was a Sunday morning slugfest.

Sweet beat extract--definitely some good jams here. This one takes me back to that game Escape Goat, which feels particularly appropriate with a title like "Spellbound". Looking forward to whatever thing it is you have cooking up!

Fun melodies. Too fun. How dare you corrupt the children

consider me an impressed-upon child smile

Super fun! And you say you've also run errands, wrote lyrics AND went to the gym this week?? Impressive. Excited for what's next!

Catchy and fun! Put a pep in my step.

Oh man, the chorus feels so good when it hits; really well-put-together song structure all around

Hot damn the melody, composition and structure is this is so good! 🤘🤘🤘

With the retro sounds here and everything being glued so tightly to the grid, this brings me right back to using Protracker in 1994. Nice motion here, the drums drive the song well.

This feels fitting for a CD-i game somehow

It’s interesting you say cooking up. You’ll have to wait a bit to hear! Looking forward to finishing it for release it in wb soon.

I’m always looking out for the children and making sure they are informed if a song’s lyrics contains butt or poop so they know not to listen.

Got most of my backlog of errands done finally. Looking forward to more consistent gym and music time.

Thanks! I was thinking about your catchy guitars when doing the guitar part

Thanks! Out of curiosity which part do you consider the chorus?

Thanks, put a lot of emphasis into the structure. I actually plan for this to be very similar to the structure of a song in the works, this was sort of a speed trial of it

A fantastic place to start. Should be taking it about 15 more years back soon if I have my way.
