I almost already quit Weekly Beats this week. hmm I realized part way through the week that I'd bitten off way more than I could chew. I was aiming to make something outstanding and then started working towards a song. I'm still learning how to write songs that aren't terrible, so that was a really bad idea and it came down to the wire. I'm planning to be more time organized in the following weeks and allocate a small amount each day so things don't get out of hand. Also aiming to not get hooked on trying to make it sound perfect - one week isn't enough for that! Next week, I'll just be trying to make something in flow and see what happens. Thanks for listening!

Lyrics

Verse 1
A new day breaks
As nighttime yields to day
For one last time
The darkness flees away

Our Saviour rises
We lift our eyes to see the Son
A new horizon
Eternity's begun

Chorus
We'll be
Face to face with majesty
Beyond our wildest dreams

We will
Rise to meet Him in the sky
The King who reigns on high

Verse 2

A wondrous sound
The clouds illuminated
As all will see
Jesus Christ incarnated

He shines like lightning
His glory brighter than the sun
He claims the vic’try
Eternity is won!

Chorus x2

He’s coming soon!

This is great! Feels like summer - I'm reminded of any number of chill emo/rock bands, but with the synthy arrangement this is really nice :-)

Came out super clean, good thing you didn't give up smile

Done is better then perfect!

I like the vocals quite a bit. The D&B vibes are cool. It might not be as good as you'd like yet, but at least this exists and is a nice snapshot of where you are at now. smile

Thank you! Any chill emo/rock bands in particular? I'd be keen to check them out.

Cheers! Yeah, I know it all in theory - putting it into practice is the trick. wink

This is wonderful in so many ways. I'm very glad you pushed on so that we could all hear this. Looking forward to hearing what else you cook up this year!
