Any fellow chess players out there?
Perhaps this is kind of random, but if there’s any fellow chess players out there, should we set up a slow-moving correspondence tournament to play during the WB 2022 year? We could even compose theme tunes for the game arcs.
(I’m fartein_ at chess.com)
I haven't played in years, but if there's a tourney, count me in!
I agree! Everyone is awesome! Even the "oh this is a throwaway track" - I can still hear the ideas and the fun of tentatively exploring an idea.
The most common trait seemed to be an instrument though – the m8 tracker of which I was unaware of before entering this year's WB. Must be quite a piece of kit since so many of you were inspired to use it.
The creator of the WB website also created the M8! There's been a great community surrounding the M8's production & development - so that's why there's a new influx of people. All the M8 people are certainly making me want to get one

I HONESTLY FORGOT
Sorry, this reply seems like a huge flex
If anything you should be flexing more. I want to remind everyone that Tweaklab also played his first live show EVER this year with me in 2020 (online!)

Hi! Would it be ok if I post a finished composition here for this challenge, but later I want to extend it as a personal project? It won't be posted here of course.
Definitely! No real rules about what you can and can't do with your work.
...but be sure to post what new thing you do with it so we can hear it!
Okay, looks like the "work week" starts in a few hours (Sunday, Jan 2) and then the songs are due Sunday, Jan 9. Good luck everyone!
upload button doesn't work for me at all? so I'm assuming next week is the due date?
Very cool! Is your music available somewhere to check out?
Hi, Tweaklab's promotional representative here with the info!
I am so keen... but also so ready to stop... but I'm not going to! This will be my 3rd year of non-stop beat making in a row hahaha. After Weekly Beats 2020, I spent 2021 finishing my score for GoldenEra (upcoming documentary about GoldenEye: 007 on the N64 and the team at RARE behind it, who went on to form Free Radical aka made TimeSplitters!) on the side of that I've also been commissioned to make 2x EPs for Aussie comedian Benny Bogan, both have a single out so far ("Demons" and "Straya" on all platforms), and I've still managed to make some typical "Tweaklab" music for a TV show or two lol. BRING IT ON!
I don't want to do this but if you do it I have to do it, so I hate you TWEAKLAB! Congrats on keeping busy on the offseason! Very big moves for my boy
(When I went to click "quote" I clicked "report". Maybe not an accident? )
Apologies if I missed you, but congrats to EVERYONE no matter how many songs you completed!
Update for everyone:
I purchased KRK Rokit 5 G4 speakers and have a backordered KRK 10s subwoofer.
I have the two speakers already and I like them a lot. They have an EQ so it seems like I could really fine tune them for accuracy against my hearing. The final verdict will come when the subwoofers arrive!
1) Regarding AUX, you can use anything you want. You just need an outgoing audio signal, and plug that into the AUX. So that can be your computer, your phone, an MP3 player, a CD player, a guitar amplifier, etc. If you have something that is making sound, and you have a way to get a 1/8" cable to send the audio signal, you can plug that into the AUX, doesn't necessarily need to be a computer program.
2) If you have an "Audio Interface" that connects to your computer, you can plug the Stylophone into that interface, via the headphone jack. So sound coming OUT of the Stylophone via the headphone jack going IN to your Audio Interface. If your computer has a LINE IN port, you can use that too.
Hope this helps!
Yeah....nah, none of these intentions happened.
There's still time right?
Hows everyone going @Thread?
Yeah, basically nothing happened but:
1: I'm still making music
2: If anything, I'm realizing how important art is during the worst of times.
