That would be great

Unable to upload song tonite... Seems my connection is unstable or something hmm

...the 'artists you've favorited' filter! Great idea! smile

Then again, it might be a fool's errand to try to find or create meaning.

Well it seems we are hard-wired to find meaning. IMO the fool's errand is rather to believe that the meaning you created gets across (especially with music). There's an emitter and a recipient but finding meaning is a creative process, it's not just about receiving.

It can generate emotion, but not necessarily the one the artist intended; certain linkin park songs make me happy because the sounds are nice, even if the lyrics are almost always depressing emo shit.

This is it precisely. It can stimulate feelings in receivers, but not necessarily the same feeling in ALL receivers nor what the artist was attempting to portray. Words assist this, as words are a far more communicative.

Yet the use of words offers no guarantee. I like to think that sometimes (as in "extremely rarely" - depending on emitter/recipient) music is more accurate. smile

how do you guys get inspired? most times, i feel incapable of making music that is "about" anything, and just shoot for whatever sounds good to my ears. makes me feel like a bit of a hack. i can try and place meaning on the tunes after the fact, but that's not really what i'm after.

Funny, what I like most about making music is precisely that it allows me to express things I wouldn't know how to say. smile

Not to have a go at anyone here, but I'm a bit averse to the whole 'like/heart/favourite/vote-up' scenario you see everywhere these days.  I think it's a little more worthwhile for the recipient to receive feedback in the form of a comment and not something that involved a solitary click of the mouse.  Whilst the sentiment might be sincere, it's just not the same as receiving some nice words.

Except that not making the feature public doesn't necessarily lead users to write comments. That said I understand the idea, and although I tend to prefer comments over "likes" on SC, I do find the latter useful and pleasant feedback.
Anyway it's not my site and I trust the makers of WB when it comes to leading an interesting project. If all webmasters followed what most users suggest we would get websites that are too similar to each other and we don't want that.

Speaking of reversing samples, how about a reversed track? Or a track whose second half is the first half reversed?
Like, think both ways! 8)

Hi! Are you notified when somebody adds one of your tracks to their faves? Also, it would be nice to know how many people favourited your tracks on your page!

In my experience, procrastination consists in making music. I just do it instead of everything hmm Indeed I start new tracks instead of finishing old ones smile That 1 week frame is great for me.
