Welp, made it to about Week 41. I could continue on by using reupload links, but I think I've gotten my worth out of WeeklyBeats by now.

It was an honor to be continuously inspired and challenged by many of you fellow musicians and I hope you have gotten some inspiration out of doing this, too!

Please link me your music so I can keep listening and be inspired some more in the future! big_smile

Got stuck on another bus without wifi today - ugh. Could I pleaaaase get another upload link? sad((

I think from now on I'm going to upload songs on Saturday...

;_;

Hey guys, looking for a re-upload link here if possible. I was on a bus all day with flaky wi-fi and couldn't stably upload the track. Thanks!

current rig. i'm right now stationed at my family's house so they have a lot of weird shit around, lol. but it's nice to have lots of space to spread out. the meat of the rig is really just the macbook on the right with a large and unnecessary desk. I need better monitors, for sure. i unfortunately can't find the launchpad's USB cable, and I also have a Roland JX-8P (not shown) that I can't find the power supply to either. sad there's also a bunch of guitars not shown either. the table on the left is basically a chiptune station. the keyboard on the left is a DX27 and that's next to a PC that Carl (OxygenStar/Radlib/etc.) built me!

What works for me I think is to not take it so seriously. I mean, the only thing you should take seriously is: "I'm going to write a song a week." Don't be too serious on all the other stuff. You're not going to write Bohemian Rhapsody. I mean, if you do, then fuck yeah. Right on.

My logic is that there are a countless number of professional (and even touring) musicians that are also family men/women as well. More often than we think - it's definitely doable, but you have to structure it a bit differently. You aren't going to be able to stay up all night and work on a track, but maybe you can put aside 20minutes a day before going to bed. I tend to believe that the notion that "the longer that you work on a track, the better it will be" is a only a strong correlation at best. Maximize your efficiency and pump out ideas. There are many people that successfully put out creative output will full-time jobs + family responsibilities, don't lose hope!

fuck. i asked someone how to get to the cafeteria and someone said it's past the pool on the third floor

there is no pool on the third floor

one thing that really seems to work for me is a tip i heard once on using room reverb on a return track to blend dry tracks together: solo the return and adjust the sends on each of your tracks - try to make it sound like what you'd hear if you stepped out of the venue for a smoke

I love Live because it's insanely modular. I've used it for making standard rock tracks, made electronic beats, used it for sound design and sample mangling, recorded live bands with it, and most recently used it for live performance. i've seen people score videos with it, do live visuals, and even control physical robots with it - it's not even a music software for me anymore than it is an interface for creativity. and i know that sounds like i'm fanboying, but i'm trying to be as genuine as possible as somebody who came from working extensively with everything before including but not limited to: ProTools, Logic, Cubase, Reaper, ACID, FL Studio

I can't thing of any other software that has its flexibility. And now that it's partnered with Max, it's even exponentially more flexible. There's hasn't been a single situation where I couldn't do something that I wanted to do with Live. In fact, there are a plethora of things I still WANT to do with Live that I haven't even done yet and that inspires me greatly

oh man, i hope there's no production quality standard. my mixes are whaaaack
