Hello Dear WB Staff! My upload for week 41 went well, but I realised the file had minor mistakes ( I basically didn't rendered the whole thing and missed my long reverb fadeout).

It is possible to reupload an existing post?. If not, I'd add a link to my soundcloud, so no biggie.

Thanks in advance! Cheers!

Thank you very much, Phil. You are the man!

Hello Everybody!

Has anyone around here got the last Piggy release for the Gamepark GP32?

I'm having a really hard time finding it, (so many broken links) and it's not supported anymore. It's not on the site either.

I built some projects for GP32 but he source code doesn't compile, because the only "legacy" platform supported now is the Gamepark GP2x.

Since it supports MIDI so well (that was my main goal when I finally bought it) I wanted to use it with some hardware, but I'm stuck with the (no-MIDI) PSP version.

Thanks in advance, guys!!!

Glad it worked it, I have similar problems at work.

Actually.. It didn't. I'm borrowing someone else's 3G connection, so no wifi hotel policy. Can I have that reupload, please? I hope it works this time.

Thanks in advance

Hello Dear Weeklybeats staff!

I've tried to upload in the last hour and I'm stuck in a loop. My file is just 9 megabytes in size and after the counter is stuck in the 99%, then goes to 1% percent for two times (more or less: first time two, second time three, third time just stuck at 70% until I reloaded) and ends rejecting the file with you should use files no bigger than 15 megs.

I tried twice and then re-rendered my file, just in case is corrupted. It's still less than 9 megs.

Could I possibly have a reupload?

Thanks in advance

I read somewhere that in rock you could be like Springsteen (I'm one of you, but I'm onstage) or you could be like Bowie (I don't care I'm completely different from you and you think I'm a weirdo... You finally realise you love me)

With all due respect to The Boss, I've always been more attracted to that second type. A true inspiration for me and countless others.

His legacy goes way beyond his music. My deepest respect.

Go to Profile/Your Song, then submit, so you can edit, delete your track and/or reupload.

These days it seems someone could fart and feel the need to classify it as a new genre with 5 layers of sub-genres. Which makes sense given the variety of tones one can achieve, not to mention articulation. But I digress.

I guess we all are trying to give some orientation about what to expect, given that what I've heard in this community is miles ahead (both in quality and "openmindedness") from a lot of more hyped commercial stuff (commercial as in "sold for profit", not as in "you sell millions and I'm obscure so I'm better that thou").

Anyway, I could not agree more with you about how pointless those endless discussions are (you know, "that vaporwave post-bass EDM ukelele influenced seapunk goth polka scene is not what it used to be" attitude)

I would love to call my particular kind of music "synth hop" without giving much seriousness to the label: downtempo beats more in line with nineties hip hop (that classic "boom bam") along with more ambient-ish/electronic melodies. Abstract/instrumental hip hop influenced music, much influenced by Boards of Canada, DJ Krush, Mux Mool, Dabrye, Om Unit...

Heavyly influenced by the chiptune and demo-music scene. Also some early 80's electro (for me that EDM electrohouse "throw your hands in the air" thing is... well, not worth the "electro" name. Not to offend anyone).

Anyway, I'm really interested in a lot of other genres, but that is what comes to me naturally. I'd love to come up magically with something like "Imitation of life" by R.E.M., for example, but I'm not much of a skilled pop composer.

And what artist is your insp/motivation?
From the thirty minutes or so I've been lurking around these threads, I've heard mostly stuff in the dance/edm vein. This is my first time on wb so i'm curious as to what the most prevalent genre around here is :-)

I'd say most people around the last WeeklyBeats are more experimental that "EDM", which for a lot of people means just uptempo euphoric house/brostep from 2010-12 onwards and Steve Aoki throwing cakes at the audience... try maybe "IDM" and you'll be closer to it, IMHO smile

personally i like making R&B/hip-hop sounding stuff. and the main inspiration for the sound i go for is partynextdoor.

I'll check them now since I don't know them (I'm uncool, I guess haha ). Curious about what it's your take on the genre. For me, interesting r'n'b right now is The Weeknd, JMSN, The Internet or How To Dress Well.

Your "ANNO EP" is quite good. Mellow yet somewhat disturbing... Currently checking the rest of your stuff smile

Hello everybody!

I just wanted to know whom of you are in the same continent as me (currently the only Spaniard, I'm afraid).

I get a little envious to see several people from US/CANADA, Australia... Will love to meet you all guys, but it's difficult.

I guess it could be great to share with fellow musicians from your area, like what you have in Adelaide, AUS.

Peace and happy WB'2016!

I dropped WB12 (and didn't participate in WB14), and it was due to the workload I had with school at the time. I regret that a lot, so my advice would be to suck it up, and release -something-, even if it's just some random junk you put together in an hour. No-one on the site will judge you for it, and if it's a competition, it's one with yourself.

In this case I feel it's true that something not great is better than nothing at all.

I remember hearing some of your stuff back in 2012, so I'll hope you stick around for a while smile

You said it: this is for you. It's not a competition.

Some thing that helps me is reworking the material I had sitting in my hard drive for a couple of months. Resample/remix yourself with no hesitation.

A lot of times you'll find that "that pointless nanoloop jam" that u thought it sucked gets more comments than "the definitive masterpiece" you were working and reworking for days, so we musicians are not always our best own audience smile

Prepare to be surprised... And man, glad you're here
