I've been commissioned to do a soundtrack for a short film over the next month, so I'll probably be uploading snippets of that for the next few weeks.

I'll be uploading a live track I'm playing on Saturday in Andarugo's garage.  It's gonna have some no input stuff, a gameboy, and my new Kaossilator

I was really happy with my submission this week.  It's a song that's been in my head for 4 years, and it was nice to finally get it out.

Record the special massage

Since I'll be spending a large portion of my week away from my studio, I won't be uploading the Dot Matrix thing.

My song for next week will be a dark, slow, groove about losing your faith called "Mrs. Superstition."

I'm building a synth into my old guitar body by distressing an integrated circuit and causing it to feedback on itself.  The pitch is controlled with a potentiometer.  It will be making an appearance on WB at some point

I've been considering making some drum sample packs from my drum set and on LSDJ if anyone is interested in those

Ha, me too.  I have a couple promising leads, but I might have to put that one off until next week

the point is follow the rules maybe?

its not like they have a ton of them and its not like they are all that hard.

And the point the point of the rules is to keep the Admins of Weekly Beats from being implicated in Copyright Infringement.

Drum Beats recorded with a Dot Matrix printer.

If I can't find a Dot Matrix printer this week, I'm going to do a song where I play all the instruments I own

This week was one of the busiest weeks for me, but somehow I managed to get my song mostly finished early in the week and had a lot of time to just tweak until Sunday.  I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Take a comforter and hang it in the corner of your room.  Put the microphone between you and the comforter and sing into it with your mouth 3-6 inches from the mic.  If you have a pop filter, it's a good idea to use it.  To cut down on the fan noise, I suggest either recording a low volume or covering your computer during the recording with another blanket or towels.

By the way, you can make a pretty nifty pop filter by stretching some panty hose over a wire coat hanger.
