pretty much all of it is controlled by and/or synced to the piggy->midi, including the video gear

couldnt get myself to work on what i planned until all these samples are normalized, so i made something minimal with sammichSID

all this talk of sampled body/dentistry sounds makes me want to listen to matmos all day tomorrow

mine was less than i wouldve liked to get done (was working on two other tracks im liking better, but getting things just right in piggy tracker can take a while)...

probably something spaced-out and weird, since im jacked up on muscle relaxants after my car got rear-ended after work on monday

390 bpm, lots of kick drums, piggy tracker

spry: you seemed to miss the point where im saying i use magix music maker 7 still (still have my copy of 5 as well, and i seem to remember buying version 10, but i dont have it installed or see the discs, so i may have given that copy away)... my main point was that the $15 version has everything some one really needs (and to a lesser extent that their bonus content is not so much worth the price difference in versions)

samples (and LOTS of them), synths/virtual instruments, vst plugins, effects plugins, online support (which is quite extensive), and access to their store where you can buy pretty much anything you could ever want to add to the program.

cool, so i can pay more for access to a store & tech support (for software which doesnt really need it) and a mastering suite which probably works little different than using the master effects to do your EQ & compression..
vst & plugin support has been in magix for years and there is no shortage of ones that you could already get for free..
either way, youre still trying to justify stealing it for some strange reason when there is nothing you really need that isn't in the standard version which can be bought for $15

As far as I can tell, the bonus content is still just a bunch of samples....

pirating ~$20 software is just silly...

The newest version of Magix is version 17 i believe and it sells for 99$.  you can download it from their website.  if you pay for it, it actually comes with a whole bunch of VST plugins and sample packs built in as well as synthesizers etc.  its compatible with standard VST plugins too so you can import your favorites from other programs.  the mastering suite is pretty great and it can handle 5.1 and gives a lot of control over the final output sound. it can even handle video if you dont need to do any serious editing.  over all a very nice program for the cost.

Its $15 plus shipping on newegg for magix music maker 17
..oops, tiger direct, not newegg

MagiX Music Maker is pretty cheap and has some serious capabilities.  you should look into it.  its cheap it you want to buy it.  its even cheaper if you dont.......

pirating ~$20 software is just silly...im weird enough though that while i have better recording options available (ableton, audition, pro tools) i stubbornly still use cool edit 96 and magix music maker 7 for most of that...
but for the OP, id say you should look into renoise or LGPT if you are comfortable creating your own synths out of oscillator samples

mine wasnt my best either, just short of time to work on it and when i got a chance found out the samples i was going to use weren't on the sd card in my caanoo... so it became whatever was closest to what i intended, but with completely different samples hmm

sorry, im sure i'll release some non-chip as part of this too, but full time job + getting ready for RPM challenge + getting a bunch of my unreleased stuff out through other means + working on video art + the redesign of my website + ... well, at the end of the week i havent got much time for weekly beats tracks and i compose faster with piggy tracker or nanoloop 2.3 than anything else, so i would rather get a track im happy with done than worry about what it is done with.. sure its much the same for many of the other people who do both chip and non-chip
