I didnt listen that much music from 2011..I got into Kvelertak last year and their album had american rerelease last year so if that counts, it was probably one of the things I listened most. Awesome mix of Turbonegro style straight up rocknroll, Entombed and Andrew WK. Also seeing reactions of TRUE METALHEADZ was really funny.

Totally forgot that came out last year, such a great album/band. You know it's good when John Baizley does the cover art!

I'm going to have to give this weeks round up a miss again. I have not the energy nor time to sit and listen through all of the entered tracks and then elaborate an opinion on a large fraction. I'll give a few songs a listen and post my opinions as replies, but for this week I'm out! I feel the odd need to apologise as if I've let some people down (myself included) but I'll nail my hands to my keyboard next week and make sure I crack out a worthy round up.

And for the sakes of not making a forum topic just for something as simple as a sorry,

I figure our most favourite thing of last year is going to be one of our biggest musical influences this year, right?
What was your favourite release of 2011!?

Mastodon's The Hunter for me, for a few reasons:
1. They've been my favourite band for years
2. After their previous album (which as outstanding) I was slightly worried they'd fall into the "accessibility pit" and become far too 'mainstream', however, they instead used to rise to new heights of fucking brilliance
3. Most of the songs are just too kickass

Other good releases were:
Fucked Up- David Comes To Life
Sepultura- Kairos
Black Tusk- Set The Dial
Minusbaby- Bias

What is YOURS!?

Thanks for taking the time to do these reviews! Very cool and honestly I think we should all be doing this, but, so hard to find the time.

Glad my work is worthwhile! Though going to find it extremely difficult to have it done this week, may just be a top 5 this week people!

HOLLAH!
So, next week there is a small to extremely large chance that I won't be putting up a round-up as I'm visiting my mate at his Uni for a week, so any down time alone I'll have will be recovery based. However, I'll try and skim through as many tracks as possible and maybe throw up just a basic list minus any reviews, then beef it out the following week. Anyway, hope you enjoy this week's write-up!!!

Just finished, this one rolled out super quick (well within the 5 hours or so I worked on it today)

basically a re-work of The XX's track Islands (but when I mean re-work I mean re-work, not a straight cover at all)

Though what I am influenced by depends wholeheartedly on what it is I'm composing (you'll probably notice the black metal influences STRONGLY in my entry for this week tongue)

Sorry for being so delayed this week, but I've been busy, and when I got round to actually doing the round-up everything was gold so it was annoyingly hard again. Hope you enjoy!!

Ps, no cTrix this week I know, but it was a short track and I couldn't find a whole lot to say about it, and it seemed pointless to add dead space and predictable words for the sake of routine!
