Two other ideas: Backwards noises, or a song made out of samples of your previous songs (Like Madeon's Pop Culture (look that up on Youtube))

So, just to clarify, the theme IS optional, right? big_smile It's just a neat little aspect you can choose to apply to your track?

I'm just curious because 'theme' isn't mentioned anywhere else on the site except these forums.

Starts getting into it at 2:00, but the intro really helps set the tone. big_smile

Here's the track that really kickstarted my love for trance:

EDIT: Actually, it was the instrumental version of it (Which is compositionally different), but this version is cool too.
EDIT2: Here it is, actually so much better IMO xD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jb0CGQVXre4

And something a little more classic:

Yup. Now, here's my question: Can we switch the chords up and down octaves, or are they stuck in a single octave?

Righto!  Looks like the Theme for Week 14 is going to be "Use 4 Notes to Make a Song"  and as per S.P.R.Y.  Bonus points will be awarded if you stay in one octave (because we have points now)

Happy Composing and feel free to post your songs in this thread once the beats go live!

In musical theory, there is no difference between A0, A1, A2, A3, A4 etc. It's called octave equivalence. For my $0.02, I'd say that you can use the same four notes in any register.

Just for bonus points, then.
