Orphaned tadpole lullaby

By fetalface on February 18, 2024 9:18 pm

Lyrics:

we dance in the shade of the sickle of life
we dine on the dregs that lurk under your homes
we wait for our turn in the government line
we sleep all day and we suck on stones
we die every day for mysterious crimes
and they build on our bones
they build on our bones
they build on our bones

JUSTICE FOR THE FROGS!

This is why I take care of the random frogs that come out of our creek. Fingers crossed when they come for humanity, they’ll remember my kindness.

Seriously this is rad. Absolutely insane and rad.

Vocals are craaazy, such a cool sound. Really enjoy the sparse background bell accompaniment. Poor tadpoles sad

I always wait for the frog to hop on forward especially when they're crossing traffic.  The bell synth and bassy part really support your vocals so well.  Reminded me a bit of the Knife's harmonies.  The waviness gives it an extra spooky vibe too.

eeeeerie! very cool

That's the best thing ever especially if it is also making fun of Elon Musk

I, too, hope that the frogs can detect good intentions. I'm not very good at actions

Thanks! My process is always so last-minute I have a hard time remembering. I believe I lazily started with the arp, then maybe incomplete scratch vocals? Then tried the pedal (Space Spiral) and maybe that helped me fill in gaps in the lyrics??? We're trying to rescue some tadpoles and this is my haphazard interpretation of their sound. THey would probably choose something different for themselves

Eek!!! Thank you!

That's twice now you've made my day a bit better, this is delightful.

beautiful song, loved this one!

The wobbly vocals are a surprise, against the quiet melody. This transports us to a mysterious and alien place. I keep being reminded of bowie with the vocal melodies, not entirely sure why but it's good in my book.

You nailed this sound. Really enjoyed this.

Wow, this is wild.  The keys/bells sound on its own is so wholesome but the strings, vocals and lyrics are about as ominous as it can get.  Well done.

they build on our bones
they build on our bones
heart

I was pulled in with that plucky bell synth and then wowwed by those vocals. Really love the super modulated effect!

Very unsettling, but also beautiful.
