This is the cat-dandling song handed down from generation to generation in my family, traditionally sung while holding a beloved cat and gently bouncing it up and down to the beat of the music. Occasionally, this was the prelude to a larger ritual of using the cat to wave goodbye to a family member departing for their daily work or other remote occupation.

It *is* a joyful song, our dear Grayson Trent Longleggy had a good life, we miss him, and I greatly appreciate your condolences.
