Standoffish

I've had the end of this track in my veins since I was just out of high school decades ago, but never really gave this one the full treatment.  Decided to sit down and flesh this thing out, and it might be the longest I've spent on a single mix of a track to this point.

I built the rhythm and synths out on my m8. The drums are conceptualized as two separate drummers playing two different small kits of just a kick, snare, and hi-hat.

The synths are a mono lead and polyphonic chord progression that makes a few moves.  After that I added a bit of my budget hofner bass, a rhythm guitar track, and then it was time to play the solo at the end.

Currently just an instrumental, but I have some kind of lyrical ideas that don't have a space right now.  So someday I'll probably throw some singing / rapping on it.

Everything was recorded using Ardour and FOSS plugins.

As always, GUITAR GANG RISE UP!!!

This has got like a kind zany vibe like I could imagine a group of cartoon bears doing a chase scene to it.

You just brought back a deep memory of a cartoon from my childhood called The Hair Bear Bunch!  Thank you for listening and dredging that up!

Man, these movements are awesome.
Guitar gang does it again.
