Last day of an era of my life. Last weekly beat before legally married (tomorrow as of writing). Rode bikes with AL to shop for care package for brother and T. Blanket and frame for Ghibli art tribute AL made for Alphonse (she developed all week), also groceries and new food containers. Rode to park twice in evenings. AL joined once. Failed WB attempt happened started there. Watched families, walkers, kids, athletes hanging around the park for a few hours. Monarchs are out. Finished one book and continued reading another. First time going to Costco with our new cards. Enjoyed excursion as a couple. Sleep schedule messed up. Picked up new board game. Played with AL. Tried on clothes for courthouse. Listening party, streams, and too much internet. Watching analytics (broke 1k views in one week). Glad for break from practice space. Ate at P'sDaughter for lunch. New menu under new management. Bad iced matcha for AL. Walked to market. Deep clean bathroom and kitchen with AL. Feeling more focused and accepting of work conditions. Concerned about how much time spent on the internet. Tried to put good intentions into communities even if online. Trying to be empathetic to traumatized strangers even if they give in to reactive regressive thinking. Remembering personal experiences where that was me. Thinking of tech and intersection with ethics, philosophy, and economy. Simulation theory. Smart people and family members who may be overly developed in their craft or career but under developed in social awareness and humanities. Some times purposely... Hope it's not forever. Still love them. Coordinating with my family for meeting next month. Explaining 90's AZN and ABG history and meaning to immigrant mother and brother. Short era of life. Reactionary community building responding to upbringing in new country. Elections news. Revisit spectrogram drawings. Laughing at old internet things and reflecting on childhood internet experiences. looked at old college professor's work.

Short on time and original idea did not pan out. Decided to finish an old file from maybe a year ago that was incomplete. Original M8 file was made while testing new percussive samples programed for the Sega Genesis. Sampled from hardware. Began work early Sunday morning. Rushed through. Leaned on reliable extra synth additions to fill out the rest. Should have properly recorded parts separately. Short on time. Recorded just master 2 channel stereo out to DR-40. Midi = M8>Headphone Splitter>S-1 and TT-303. Audio = TT-303>S-1 (used onboard reverb and delay @just under 12:00 position)>M8>DR-40. Live tweak 303 parameter changes. 3 takes. Take 1 primary. Take 2 blended in to for clearer ending.

Not happy with mix or master. Would simplify with more time. Used wrong headphones. Probably properly re-record and revisit composition.

Oh dang, when the drum breaks at around 1:40 hit, it's such a cool surprise! Niiiice!

Oh snap, huge congratulations to you! smile This track is absolutely nuts turned up in headphones, all the drums/perc panning and crunchiness/texture everything has, a pretty wild experience. Feels like a dance party.

I wonder what you have in mind about the mix not being good. Curious to hear what you are after as this sounds excellent to me. Properly loud, but leaving the spacious pads alone (they're not pumping unnecessarily), there's reverb where you need it and none where you don't. Separate track levels seem all good. I genuinely can't tell what you're unhappy about there big_smile

Haha that's right around where I didn't know what to do with the previous section and jumped ship for a different idea. I am pretty bad a composing in an organized fashion so it all ends up being a string of experiments.

Thank you big_smile Feels pretty good to hitched so far haha. There are some experiments I want to tame in this one but for a rushed weekly beat, It'll do.

I would like to tighten some of the eqing a bit and enhance some instrument seperation. Also I tried some new approaches to using M8's tables. I learned a lot from the experimenting but with hindsight and listening on other devices I think I can add a bit more finesse to the results or out right remove it so the song plays better on mono speakers. The later section I am ok with but the first half is a bit messy to me.
