This is lovely - a delicate captured moment. So glad you're back this year!
your music is always a much needed escape! Such a peaceful sound to the bells and your voice. So glad to hear you're back for another round.
This is so sparkly and pretty yet hiding something ominous.
Welcome back!
Welcome back! Your efforts to combat the insulting energy are appreciated, and I do hope that all of this current nonsense we're experiencing somehow ultimately leads to a change for the better.
A thawing of everything frozen. The little glissandos add a surprising and enjoyable accent. Beautiful vocals! Thank you!
Beautifully crafted track. Welcome in is a message we definitely need more of in the world right now. I’m so grateful you’re bringing your sound back this year and looking forward to hearing your latest!
Memorizing... like, as literally as I can mean that. Great work... here's to making some art, and with any luck shakin' our asses along the way.
:-) Great to see you back again. Yeah, getting over the perfectionism is hard hey... but we're all here for the spontanious jams and perfect inperfections. Love the pitch slides.
A beautiful and fitting beginning to this year. The plinky arpeggio made me think that this could very satisfyingly grow into a grim trip-hop beat, Portishead style.
Happy you're here again!
love the sound design here, music box mixed with some sliding synths and the ethereal reverby vocals. A time of great insult indeed. A reminder of how important community, people, togetherness and welcoming people with open arms is. So glad you're back for another year!
With Emily around, hope is not optional! Hard to imagine this place without you and I’m oh so glad I’m here this year with you (and yes as an immigrant found the words you chose in the write up relatable and kind which is something I could use more of…)
To 2026, with hope in tow.
emily, I cannot express how happy I am that you decided to join again in 2026.
I can't tell you what exactly it was, but this struck something deep inside me and I and writing this comment with tears in my eyes. Might have something to do with the fact that I am a freshly minted citizen (at least they haven't taken naturalization away - yet) and am also deeply saddened by so much of what I see this country doing.
Thank you for making this. The sad long reverb-drenched vocals paired with the high-pitched melodic instrument is a very moving combo. I'm just a sucker for music box-sounding things, hahahahaha...
Again, thank you for sharing your art with us. We are lucky to witness it.
Here's to a 2026 full of resistance!
Welcome back! This song is clearly amazing, but I haven't been able to listen to it properly because Fiancé won't stop telling me how beautiful it is. ![]()
It's good to see you back in 2026.
This, too, shall pass. Which is not a call to inaction but a reminder that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and that in the meantime action will help.
Thank you for sharing this track. The plick plock bring the rhythmic elements. I am not sure what the sliding synth-like other sounds are but they are very interesting. I feel like I am sitting in a dark cave at the source of pure water, and water will find its way out of the cave into the great ocean.
I am looking forward to more of your tracks this year.
Glad u are back!
This is v chill!
Making the world a better place with each of your tunes! They always have such depth of feeling it’s very nice to hear, they seem like they always matter. it’s what true artistry is all about. Keep sharing please!
wb Emily!
Thanks for sharing your story.
Also, this track made me want to boot up ICO again.
And that was even before I read the track title.
Yes! Glad to see you back, your tracks always have such a lovely feel to them. Despite the storm we are enduring here in the US of A, here’s hoping there is a light at the end of this tunnel… good music gives me hope there are better things to come.
Delicate, a little haunting, and strangely optimistic - thank you for this. In the shadow of all that's going on in this country, I find myself angry and anxious and I hate being that way. This is a reminder that anger doesn't need to dominate.
Best type of music always creates a spontaneous physical response, my eyes are tearing up, this is beautiful, thank you.
Welcome to 26, it is hard to fathom its been decade of WB-ing. I appreciate this twinkly welcoming moment of peace to counter the insults around. Appreciate your words: "let's make some music, shake our butts (don't forget), & celebrate being alive together this year!"
Yes! This is a mantra I could get behind this year.
This is so important. I've been thinking about the statue of liberty a lot recently (for obvious reasons) - like has anyone in our government read what it actually says? Where did your family emigrate from? That's really awesome your grandfather was at Ellis Island.
Hugs to you and jwh - so excited for us to double date, musically, this year lol

My family on my dad’s side is all from Platì
Except his mom (who was born here) her mother came with her brother from Gangi
stunning, those bouncing strumming bells wash through everyhting perfectly.
has a decade really elapsed though?
this beat sounds like a decade floating swirling swimming before my mind eyes

a DECADE!!!!
Welcome back for another go (I'm wishing this from the future... week 6)
Beautiful, as usual. It's really crazy to think a decade has passed... I discovered WB casually while reading about writing challenges helping your creative habits... back in January 2012 !!!
Thanks a lot for being there and be part of the community... and always knowing what GIF to choose ![]()
