I Feel A Need For Speed | Brutal Techno To Play WipeOut To

By electronic_tiger on May 17, 2026 4:52 pm

Back to techno to play WipeOut to. This track is raw, primitive, and unapologetic. Maybe even too brutal for WipeOut. A pounding 909 clone obliterated through some heavy distortion. A squelchy acid base line. Some harsh, cross modulating stretched out notes that sound like a printer from hell. And a pretty, albeit distorted, arpeggio if you make it towards the end.

Any and all feedback welcome!

This should definitely be a WO track. I thought it was very tastefully arranged even though it's hard hitting throughout. The sound that I you call printer from hell is both a really good fit but challenging when it gets ultra harsh in the higher frequencies. Great work.

Thank you Monstret! I'm very happy to hear that. Indeed, the printer from hell sound is right at that edge, and may be over it.  I did try to tame it, but I couldn't find a happy middle ground where it would not lose the energy that it brings in its current form.

Oooof!! Yes, this one goes hard. smile I think that perhaps the toms would have even a bit more impact if they are tuned a bit lower?

By the way it's like the track takes some different turns along the way in terms of harmony. I think that's a nice detail. I don't know if WipeOut has different 'biomes', but it kinda gives me the feeling of finding yourself in different environments along the way. Great outro!

honestly, I'd like to hear a bit of variation in the drum patterns, not just breaks
you have a few bars of just drums, let the creativity speak, it yearns for a solo

Oh man, this track takes no prisoners. At times it’s like the love child of techno and industrial, and I rather like it. Printer from hell is great, enjoyed the sound design in general, the overall feeling that the VU meter spent the entire song parked in the red. And yeah, that distorted arp was a nice ending. smile

I like raw tracks ahahah, this one goes so hard is awesome heart
