Getting There

By ecso on January 11, 2020 11:11 pm

I had the start of another track that I was working on in FL Studio Mobile, which I had to use during breaks at work because I was stupid busy all week. I finally got to sit down and really dig into it today annnddd... I hated it. So I started an entirely new track that I only had a few hours to work with. Def think this track had more potential than the original track I started, but I think this one goes kinda meh in the second half. Better luck next week.

I have to restart like at least 2-3 times every week. Drives me nuts. Hey, at least this one turned out nice. Those pads in the second half could have even turned into something more dramatic... of course this kind of thinking is why I have to restart so much tongue

I feel you, man! I had the effect I wanted in my head but when I tried all my samples together, nothing worked.

You managed to work a really nice start of a track. And it takes courage to get rid of an arrangement. Please keep on going smile

I was simlish rapping in my head, I'd say that's a good sign wink

Good stuff!

Yeah, they really could have. Definitely should have been louder in the mix, too but oh well. tongue

Thanks!

this is so good!  i hated everything i did the first few months the first year i tried this - often i still don't like what comes out of me every week - but one thing i discovered later when listening back was that some pieces were not as bad to my ears when not under the microscope of my mind while in the track & often the stuff i really felt was not good - those were the songs people on here resonated with most... so i'm not sure how objective i am about my own stuff - are we all this way i wonder?

I get the feeling we are.

i like that little synth that tries to break free in the second half, feels like it is about to transition to a new section

love the drum groove, really super hot. great stuff

Nice, nice. Maybe a spy movie lounge scene.

I think we are all that way a bit, I know I am. Cheers.
