Beat = OP-1 field + M8. Vocal production was done in Pro Tools, mastered in Logic. Took the long way to produce this one.

I wasn't expecting to make hiphop thing, but here we are! Half of the beat came together while I was messing around on the OP-1 field. It's a simple lo-fi drum loop with a double layer of CWO that somehow keeps modulating up and down by half a step. I sampled it into the M8 and added a single track of bit-crushed drums on top. That's when it started to feel like it needed some kind of rap.
After a couple hours on the couch watching my partner play The Witcher 3, I had written most of the lyrics. Then I spent a very hot heatwave Saturday afternoon recording the vocals and doing all the post-processing. I used the TE CM-15 mic with the TX-6 mixer and recorded into Pro Tools. My partner had a listen and came up with the chorus hook right there and then. We recorded her vocals in like 2 takes, then she went back to Witchering. What a champ.
Next, I exported a vocal submix to bring back into M8, so I could finetune the instrumental. Made all the stops, variations, and modulations to fit the vocals, then exported the new instrumental into Pro Tools for the final mix tweaks. I knew I wanted to have Sausage Fattener on the master, but it doesn't run in Pro Tools (I do have a wrapper plugin that I really need to get working). So I exported the mix into Logic for the final mastering tweaks. So it was a bit of a journey, but I'm pretty happy with the results and equal parts terrified to put my vocals out there. Luckily most of you won't understand the lyrics heh.
Sounds so mean, damn, but at the same time it feels like you had a great time making this.
No idea if not understanding the lyrics is a curse or a blessing.
Anyway, the flow is sharp, the music is too.

I don't know if people know this, but dutch is actually a goated rap language as long as you lean in to it, which you for sure did. Your rap and the beat completes eachother perfectly, giving it this harsh, cocky, non-chalantly playful tone.

Damn son. This goes HARD. Love the textured drums you've got going on here. And the rap is superb. The hook ties it all together really nice. What a banger. Love the Dutch on this.

Don’t care that I don’t understand a damn word. Flow and rhythm is AMAZING, and the beats are great.
I’ve listened to more than a little rap in other languages (none of which I speak), and I love how it reduces the voice to a pure sonic instrument with just emotional feel - not processing literal meaning, just the sound and feel of the words - it’s just emotion and rhythm and sound. And they’re all awesome.
There’s been some amazing music this year, but this is absolutely one of my favorites so far. I want an album. Favorited.

The way the drum hits are so short and clipped in the intro is a nice fakeout for the heavy kick in the main beat. Love the layered CWO, comb filter-y and right in line with the lower industrial hats. Cool process in general on the beat (I really like following the way the hats repitch and thin out). The quasi-dubstep move in the verses is fun, where the kick drops to slower deliberate stomps and your low vox insert acts like the bass drop. And your and Mini Loemp's vocals are both playful and hard enough to sell the gag. Nice work!
