The Far Future of 2018

By Leo on June 28, 2026 9:02 pm

Imagine a scifi video game from the 80s about fighting for survival in a world ravaged by climate change.

Quick lil' chiptune based on a melody I wrote in 2018. Nothing new here, but I like the switchup at the end (imploding everything to one track, modulation and rhythm change) and the main drum beat. Those snare "ghostings" have a nice edge to them.
Spent the day helping a friend clear out her childhood homes' basement that was flooded by the torrential rains last weekend. Fun, especially with the current heat wave scorching europe (think it was 39°C today).

Chiptune sounds are always good. Thick and strong. I like that there are lot of different sections to this tune. And on their own they're all good stuff. But that sudden loss of momentum around 1m50s doesn't work for me. I think you should have worked up to that more. As it is it feels like the tune is stumbling there, even on a second listen when I know it's coming. That said, it's a neat little tune. Well done, indeed!

Super punchy and super fun chiptune goodness. Got a really good hook going at 1:30.
I actualy did enjoy the rhythmic modulation near the end. Nice one!
