Snowless

By DonutShoes on January 31, 2024 2:59 am

For this week I decided to make a pseudo-generative patch in Bitwig's Grid. The sounds and theme of this piece are loosely inspired by how it's been frigid cold in New England lately but without much snow :<

Here's a video of the patch in action!
(Note: because of the pseudo-generative nature of the patch, the video and mp3 upload are slightly different)

Whoah! That patch!!
Nice and plinky.

That looks like fun to play with, but intimidating to actually make something with. Nice job!

to be fair, I rearranged the patch into spaghetti to fit it all on screen for the video, it looked a lot cleaner and made more sense beforehand lol

Agree with the others: That grid looks like a technopunk Sim City going off the rails, but it sounds good—that spooky pad sfx from ~00:33—1:00 is B0$$

cool tune, the chilly feeling comes through

makes me wanna check out bitwig

It's more noodle-y and more DIY-y than VCV. I think of it like if Max or PureData was catered specifically to audio and Bitwig's ecosystem. I highly recommend trying it out though it's super fun!

sweet sounds all around especially on those noise sweeps.  Really enjoyed how the beat struck thru with it's edgy and panned quality.
