Tout disparait au soleil

By djippy on January 30, 2022 2:11 am

I did put quite a bit more time into this one.

Started with recording a small thing with the acoustic guitar, but it was not tuned right (half a step too low)
I did double the acoustic guitar, but leaved the original recording in with pitch transposition and a pitch corrector on that gives kind of a tape wobble fx into the track... Some bass, some pads, electric piano, a track of electric guitar, vocals, acoustic drums...

It is still the messy JPD stuff, but I am quite happy about this one. Fun fact, vocals were tracked using the laptop microphone.

Lyrics:

Je souffre,
J’ai mal à l’âme.

Quelque chose cloche chez moi.

Rien à faire c’est comme ça.

Mais le soleil se lève
Et tout disparait.

J’oublie mes blessures
Prêt pour enfin être en paix.

Tout le monde souffre
Tout le monde a mal à l’âme
Quelque chose cloche chez toi
Ce n’est pas grave ne t’en fais pas.

The doubling and pitch shifting creates a bit of dissonance that sounds really cool.  Vocals sound good, too!

This vibe. I like very much.

J'aime en particulier la section qui commence a 1:20, avec le synth (qui annonce le soleil?). Bon morceau simple et acoustique.

When you cannot go crazy complex you go for the vibe! smile Thanks.

Il n'y a rien comme un accord majeur après du mineur. Ca ajoute un peu de "feel good".

love it

The off tune guitar warms up the sound. Big and shiny over that heavy bass. Great production... really tightens up in the second half. One of my favs!

Super cool! I reckon some low "Mmm" vocalisations would really spice up some of the bits without vocals

Weary French wave. Love it!

I can hear the extra time you spent to build up this song. Everything is in a good ballance and takes the vibe to the limit. Beautiful result.

wow, the pitch correction is super spooky.

i'm loving your drum sound.  shocked the laptop mic is as good as it is, but now that I think about it, they tune those mics for human voices for people to video chat and all.  great idea!  tres bien!

Thanks for the idea, I'll probably use that trick for another track. smile

I do use a little macbook air and they use pretty clever sound cancellation using 2 microphones as well so there is actually less noise on my tracks recorded on the bedroom  the when I sing on a cranked pre-amp with a condenser microphone and mic is fairly sensitive as well. It is not on par with a killer microphone on a great pre-amp on a great room, but more than usable for demo tracks or if you go with a processed sound.

Thanks a lot everybody to listen to my tracks.

This is awesome man.  Very ballsy low end, always love to hear that in a mix.  Love the overall vibe too, very haunting.  Had to pop the lyrics into google translate, but they are very fitting for the music.  Well done.

Yeah... this one is rad. Nice coming back to relisten!!!
