Feuilles d'automnes

By djippy on October 27, 2024 8:58 pm

A low effort track that did come up pretty good I feel. Did start only today and it probably was done in about 2hrs of work.

Drum loop, some chords progression mostly in E as I was thinking maybe adding some guitars but fuck it, it works as it is!

One of those where I did find the guts to put on my vocals in. smile

Hope you guys like it.

Lyrics:

Autumn leafs, on the ground
10 weeks to go, before new year

Les feuilles d'automnes, volent au vent
10 semaines a faire avant le nouvel an

Le temps file,
Les enfants,
Ne sont plus petits,
Ils deviennent très grand.

Thag drum breakdown at 1:25 is BADASSSSS!!!!
Super moody and solemn tune all around. Amazing that this was done in just 40min!!!

Love the head-nodding groove of the beat.  Especially in those panned out hats.  Slick bassline that fits right in with your vocals so nicely.  Gave me some Massive Attack vibes how it fades out with the beat.  Nice work!

More like 90-120 mins... Still it did flow pretty quick, but I didn't record chords - bass or drums. Chords and bass are midi clips + fun patch, drums are all made of samples loops... Did record my vocals quickly, didn't take the time to pitch correct, there are one or two little things that I am not that happy about but it is fine.

Thanks a lot! Massive Attack albums are huge so if it can reminds a little bit of that it is pretty awesome...

Thanks to both of you.

I loooove that deep sub bass and those drum fills are great too. And bilingual lyrics! All this in 2hrs. Awesome. You're reminding me of a French choral song about autumn leaves ... maybe "le vent d'automne" I think? I'll have to check. Anyway, nice work!

I love that your uploads help me apprendre le français naturellement et de façon décontractée. Great beat. Low effort tracks that come out well are the best! But I wouldn't have guessed it was low effort. Très bien.

This song feels like it laments the autumn more than celebrate
What'd it ever do to you

Don't take my french as a "good" example, I personally do not have that big of an accent, but here in Montreal our French is pretty different then the "International" French... But happy that it gives you curiosity about our beautiful language!

Not enough light man, not enough light!!! Up to Winter we are just getting less and less sun which is tough for morale!

So you think about time that goes away, how much you are not a kid anymore, stuff, etc... November blues is a real thing up here!

Ok, it is not as bad as Kuujjuaq or any even northern cities or villages, but struggle is real!

Autumn leaves are very beautiful, but it is almost all gone now!

PAS FACILE!!!

nice to hear some djippy vox! with the tonal elements being so much in the low registers it really leaves a lot of room for the vocal in the mix, very cool.

that pic the little JPDs! looks like some autumnal fun was had  big_smile

Such a moody Autumn in this track!

As somebody who also struggles with keeping my vocals in tune, let me recommend you Live's AutoShift as an easy way to pitch-correct, so that it's not distracting from an otherwise cool tune. It's what I do. I personally tend to use Melodyne, which gives you more control, but it's an extra expense and the learning curve isn't exactly easy.

Yeah! Like I said I rushed this one, I do have SynchroArts repitch on my arsenal that is very good for pitch shifting, super natural sounding but I did slap it on the vocal track and just the "automatic" settings did very weird adjustments and I didn't want to take the time to go thru all track (which isn't that long I have to agree, shame on me... lol)

If I was to "release" this, I'd take the time to do a pitch correction job there, but track was "close enough" as it is now. wink

Thanks a lot for the constructive feedback!

love the deep bass synth, feels heavy and complements the beat well, really strong foundation for the whole track

that bass is kickin! dig the vocals. Great tune!
