En avant

This one started with a "sample flip" challenge. The first guitar loop is a sample that is not from me, same with the choirs. I did build the track over it.

Did use those 2 samples, then recorded some electric guitars. Added some strings from the spitfire audio BBC free plugin.

Then recorded some drums.

Not super clean, but I think it is a fun track anyway.

That break in the middle is tasty. Sounds really nice when it gets symphonic around 1:40. I like your clean electric tone quite a bit. Very harmonically pleasing. Cool way to write a track. Where'd you get the idea for this "sample flip challenge"?

really some epic guitar rock-chords in here. The orchester works fine, makes the track more tragic sounding.
The drums came out very well and are nicely interwoven with the track. good job.

I feel like there's a nice mix of clean tones and raw and dirty tones that counterbalance each other really nicely.
The orchestra is an unexpected but nice touch.

Thanks!

The sample flip challenge is something a co-worker started to do, but it was done in a really fun and well archived way on https://www.youtube.com/c/andrewhuang channel.

It is a fun way to start a track and even more fun to hear what kind of different results comes from different people.

Merci! With the choir sample over the other guitar, I did feel going for an 'epic/cinematic' feel could work.

Thanks a lot!

Guys, sorry I didn't take too much time to listen and comment those couple of last weeks, lots of stuff is happening here at home. Still I am able to find a little bit of time to put out a little something every week.

Take care, thank you very much for listening, comments are much appreciated.

See you next week.

Fun challenge! The power chords are bright and crispy and your drums are dead on. Love the drop in the middle and the majestic part at 1:40. Nice strings too.

I really like the effects you're using on this one, really great use of dynamics here as well. The drums especially perfectly emphasis the mood and the string jabs are super dope.

This track is a different than than your usual tracks. I really like how you used the string stabs, which add a lot of taste and dynamic to the track. The highlight is however from 1:42 when you add the heavy guitars and what a splendid chord progression - it is really epic, the way it dances with the strings. Very cinematic, full of sadness, regret but also hope. The ending is perfect, taking the track back down. Bon travail sur ce track! Mon prefere je pense!

Dude, this is amazing

Love the filthy dirt tone. Good bit of bass growl along with the lofi drums. Nice one!

It was of those tracks that was "easy" to build and I am pretty happy about how it worked out. Thanks!

24 bits recording, multiple mics on the drums... (yes on my crappy garage.) Thanks a lot for the kind word!

the drums sound really good.  LOVE the string section!  so epic.

dang the silence was really effective.  awesome grand finale into the outro.
