A little more than Drums and Guitar Jam

By djippy on July 15, 2022 6:46 pm

A "cheat" this week...

I did like last week submission so I did try to make it a little more than just a jam.

Added an electric bass and vocals to the track from home, cut paste some guitars so it is doubled (plus some time stretch since there is no click there and I am not the kind of metronome guy) nothing too good, but there are some melodies that I added that I like.

So still raw, didn't work much on lyrics, but this is decent enough for this week's weekly beat!!!

hope it is a fun listen. See you next week.

Weapons used:
JPD (me) on an Old westbury drum kit with dead skins, some Sabian cymbals
Niko on a P90 loaded guitar (I think) into Blackstar artist 15 with sometimes a fulltone OCD
Ibanez SDGR into focusrite isa one - to my soundcard
Vocals tracked in a "Neat worker bee" - to focusrite scarlett first gen cranked pre...
Cockos Reaper.

then landr mastering...

ROCK!

you are in your best element. good rock vibes. a little cheating is OK for me.

Got a badass downward blues progression that's heavy and catchy. I like those guitar riffs at the end of the progressions.

Nothing wrong with a little cheating once in a while.  Great raw sound and I dig the vocals.

Yeah, rock!

Absolutely bumpin'. Escaping daily routine is essential sometimes. 3:21 on is extra bumping. Well done

Depends on the type of cheating, I am totally fine with it as well. smile I added quite a bit to the track so I don't feel guilty about it at all... And yes slowish 4-4 heavy rock is my confort zone behind the drums for sure.

Thanks, "heavy" blues rock is something we do like a play a lot together.

Bumpin on the drums and guits... Thanks for the kind comment!

It's also vocals, but it doesn't need much more

I love the raw gritty sound of the guitars here, and your voice breathes it out like such a sleek and sinister invitation: "just a little more", haha, i feel it strongly! heart

Le son fuzz de la guitare est vraiment bon. Je peux imaginer la repet, il fait chaud en ete, tout le monde est un peu fatigue et juste joue de facon relachee, le batteur est sur un transat et le chanteur au bord de l'eau.
