I'm keeping on the LSDJ kick for this week and am gonna try to create a new LSDJ album, week by week, with my submissions for the early part of this year's WeeklyBeats.
This one's in a minor key using a blues scale for the leads, accompaniment, and bass. It's a little funky but not swung. For the pulse channel lead I used a table with W commands to manually switch the waveforms for some rudimentary pulse width changes which created a nice "wah" effect on the instrument.
For the bass I used a few patches. A straightforward bass for the tamer parts of the track and an old LSDJ slap bass patch of mine from a previous album for the funky bass solo breakdown that happens about a third of the way through the track. Later I introduce a heavily distorted bass patch to create a secondary rhythm in the bass solo.
The accompaniment is some pretty standard stereo panned arps as well as some pseudo delayed arp runs on the pulse channels during the breakdown. I delayed the arps after I duped them by around 3 steps.
As always, thanks for listening!
