Power Waiting Room

By Devieus on July 21, 2024 10:59 pm

Based on Napear's Waiting Room. It's in public domain, but giving credit where it's due is kind of our thing.

I know the title is a bit of a cop-out, but it's the best I can do sticking to both the original title and the power theme that somehow seemed to have completely flown over some people's heads. I suppose that's what happens when you don't pay attention to continuity.

Anyway, been a bit of a rough week. Very hot, working hard on that other song, and switches happening on Sunday, so a very late submission for our standards, all pretty much done in a day anyway, so no big deal.

The chip, vocals, and guitar blend in a very interesting way. Very cool.

Feels a big battle is brewing as both sides march steadily towards each other.  The birds of power shall be victorious!  Nice use of Napear's Waiting Room giving it a new direction.

I totally agree, this is awesome!.  I love the why the drums add a distinct sense of purpose and forward movement.  Very nice work.

Intro is a bit lacking, you can do better

Thank you, glad it went well

Perhaps it's the event that lead to the waiting room, before the battle, and the original is the reprisal

It felt like a necessary addition, it wouldn't make as much sense without them

oh hell yeah, this is downright triumphant
sorry i know i use that word a lot over here, but i can't think of anything more fitting
excellent use of Napear's excellent track
heart

Such a cool contrast between the two tracks, it's really cool to hear these ambient sounds  in a different context. I dig the pulsing sense of tension/building. The plucky arps around 4:18 were really surprising and felt like an "arrival" to me. To quote jwh, the ending of the song felt triumphant!

There are many adjectives an artist can get their music labled as, I reckon triumphant is one of the best out there, so by all means

Yes, those arps, it just felt right for the third section, like if you're building up to something, make sure it's there when you're finished building
No one can live in a house that's just fundamentals

Everything's better when supercharged, that's just science.
