Contradiction

By DESLRV on June 14, 2026 10:58 pm

This is what happens when we get our hands on stuff.

More accurately, this is what I did to Contradiction by TheDaeVolta after someone asked me to. I hope they learned from this mistake.

I have some notes for Dizzi, my fellow gfur with a truly awesome name.
First off, your style is very solid, but your voice is not suitable for that register. Try a few tones higher. I used the high-passed tracks to give a more radio feel to the vocals and make that higher register shine a bit.
The vocal filters are also a very definite feature, but they do muddy the vocals. I've controlled the volume so it's punching in emphasis when the lyrics needed them (and added a flanger to make it even stronger). You'll notice it whenever "hate" is sung.
You have very sparse drums, barely any really, it's just a timpani on two pitches. This is a choice, and it can be the right one, but for this I decided a bit more complete kit feels nice.
Guitar. Not really a note, this was just a thing that was asked for, so that's what I did.
Melodies. Usually carried by the vocals, but the vocals didn't have much of any to begin with, and were even further reduced with what I did. So I filled the space with some chiptune. The synth arps are not melodies, though they are really nice, so I boosted them.

The birds are free.

Holy hell this is INCREDIBLEEEEE

Good job on building this piece! It's hard to get into vocals, good job on that! I like that mix of vocals and electronics (and of course birds)!
