1. M8 generates random midi phrase. Audition a few until you like one
2. Send midi to external synth (Reface CS), get audio back, record into new instrument
3. Normalize, trim midi stutter at beginning
4. Change Reface settings, recording again
5. Repeat steps 2-4 until have 6 version of same riff
6. Apply effects, EQ and panning to all 6 instruments to taste.
7. Set each track to repeat the same phrase many times at a slow tempo for a ~2 minute duration
8. Set all track volumes to 0 on the mixer
9. Create a new track that controls the volumes of the 6 voices; fade in, out and mix to taste
10. Swap out the repeated phrases for an empty phrase because you originally recorded longer than one chain's worth of audio and you want to use it for it's subtle variations
11. Realize the instruments drop out because the audio isn't looping. Switch all instruments from single shot playback to forward loop. The mixed lengths of the records causes them to loop back to the beginning at different times. Happy accident!.
12. Accidentally set one of the tracks to reverse loop. Another happy accident, add it later on to taste.

I always like to read process notes, so thanks for bothering! Nice noodling and the happy accidents paid off, IMO.

This is really cool, the doubling from the delay creates some great new rhythms on the original riff
