Waking up to Bad News

By Daisy on March 1, 2026 8:54 pm

The beginning waking up in the morning. Sunshine, quiet, normal things.  Plain intervals of 3rd and 4th in the flutes, then in the repeated in the trumpets, as I start really waking up.  Then there is a 4 measure horn call ending with a dissonant chord with added trumpet. The flutes are weeping in horror trying to keep their act together. The 4 horns join the weeping- the last horn weeping at half the speed. 3 pauses like sobs. The flute bravely enters with a Swing rhythm, the horns bravely follow-the confident trumpet guides the way- the flute hits a high F as if saying LOOK!  Then Pause, trill of disbelief on C- then flute bravely continues, with horns 1 and 2 marching faithfully underneath then--115 dead girls.

Oofff
Yeah, you've certainly got the "ah morning! Can't wait for the day" *checks phone* "oh lol war".
Great piece of music tho. It's good to process stuff however you can, as terrible as the world can be.

Very pretty, not the tragedy, those are hardly pretty.
