An innocent Bird song begins with an insect like percussion presence- each measure the tympani intones in crescendo as the storm approaches from the west. Birds (flutes) become more excited then hunker down as the storm arrives. (My excuse for a tympani solo). Finally storm rages, the birds and bugs are quiet. The storm returns

i love the orchestration and contrapuntal movements(especially in the flutes), and how the storm interjects with light flurries of the flute attempting to reorganize before the storm takes it home heart

heart so great! i can see the birds heart

Sooooo playful and nice! Super lovely. The contrast between flutes and timpani is a real fun one.
Also, I'm always down for timpani solos, hahahaha..
