M8 on this one, with some guitar (me playing) and piano (a sample played on decents ampler on iPad this time), and then all tracked on the M8. This isn't my favorite (although who knows, that could change), but it felt representative of where I've been at, and I'm just glad I'm still going 11 weeks in, especially with a few crazy weeks in a row. Also I promise this isn't a brainrot meme reference!

This one is very bittersweet, and I almost feel guilty. I've talked a lot about the work I've been doing in therapy, and I legitimately feel like it's been helping a lot. I've spent the last two months targeting a particular memory with EMDR, and that has unraveled a ton of other related things, and a lot of negative self-perception and image. It's been a really productive, helpful, and cathartic experience (even though it's been a lot of work, too). We finished the reprocessing part of EMDR once the "Subjective Units of Distress" for the target memory hit 0-1/10 and began working on installation of more positive beliefs and ideas. This has still been good, but our target is hitting a score of 7/7 on a scale of how valid those beliefs feel, and I've been stuck at 6/7 (see it wasn't a meme reference!). Ultimately, what it comes down to is that while I fundamentally do believe that the new beliefs are true - some things still (after many, many years) just hurt. As much as I'm grateful for how much better I feel compared to a few months ago, I still hurt. I'm afraid that may not change. I believe that it can, and we're starting to work on identifying other target memories that we can reprocess so we can continue the work of cleaning everything up, and I really am optimistic, but we haven't really started that in earnest yet . I believe I can feel all the way better, but for today, I still hurt. This captures that: 6/7; much better, but not quite there.
This has a lovely vibe. I like the reverb on the lead a lot. I'm torn between finding the arpeggio in the background too boring and samey on the one hand. And maybe just right as not to draw too much attention away from the lead. I think a little bit more spice in the arp could be nice, though. Anyway, sweet track! Well done!!

Nice! It evokes a vision of a futuristic Twin Peaks for me.
Yup, yup! I can see that.

Love it! Everything works together so well on this track.
And again: Happy to read about your progress with EMDR! As Ox-colt wrote: progress is progress.

Awesome head nodding groove with the drums and love that berlin-esque bass that sounds so good. Excellent lead solo too. Great news about your progress with EMDR! \m/ You got dis!

This is such a vibe. Like floating on a pink, fluffy cloud down a neon-lit street. Beautifully expressive melodies and a good coherent choice of timbre and instrumentation.
I fell off a few weeks due to life, very good to hear you instead managed to push through!

The way you describe your therapy sounds really interesting. I've never heard of EMDR before you starting talking about it. Sounds like a fascinating method.
Anyway. Lovely sound design, man.
Especially love the bass sound. I'd love to see how you made that!
Beautiful song!

good one, emotions are coming through. all those synths seem to be crying in various ways! nice bass also. I like the bg arp, giving the groove a bit of stability. I guess depending on the state of mind I might want smth else more dynamic or whatev but right now the pretty stable amount of intensity throughout the song actually was really nice to hear.

It's easy! I just took it from Laamaa . It's an FM patch called Berlin bass (clearly modeled after the DX7 bass in Take My Breath Away) - I forget which of his bundles has it, but you can get them with purchases on his bandcamp.

Sorry I've been so delinquent on comments over the last few weeks. March was a crazy month (mostly in good ways!) and I've been struggling to keep up. I appreciate you all
