Start Menu Theme

By Cursory on January 25, 2026 1:34 am

Doing a quick game jam with some friends this week - I have no technical skills to contribute so I’m working on some music and sounds lol Here’s a first stab at a main theme for the start menu. Rare guitar-free vibes lol

Best of luck to you and the team with the game jam! This is one groovy and compelling start theme. big_smile

good luck with the game jam! love this

okay, but imagine how hard this would go with guitars though.

this song is SO FRIGGIN CUTE heart

No guitar??!?! All electronic? I didn't think it possible. tongue

haha, We swapped places this week. I did guitar and vocals.

love the uplifting feel the chord pattern has heart catchy lead and bass that would make me watch the credits and explore all options before pressing start.  well done!

Cursory chip tune is not what I expected, but it works great and shows you got range, dude.

Nitpick: for a menu song, this is kind of a slow burn. I'd arrange it so the theme starts right away, so people will remember it when they click through the menu as fast as possible to get to the game. The quieter part can follow later (as you already do in the middle, actually) and then do a few bars with no drums, and a few of just the bass or something. I'd avoid fadeouts and just make it loopable. The best menu music never ends.

I would love to play this game!
