Loopy Project 12

By Cursory on May 26, 2024 11:56 pm

Happy Week 21! Didn't get up to much musically this week, was looking at old Logic projects and unearthed a loop that is allegedly 10 years old by the file data. It was just the drum beat from a loop found in Logic's library and the big panned guitar chords which I like. Tried to add some other guitar noodling over the top and other percussion throughout for fun. Very much a last-minute upload for me. Not much refinement/tinkering done here, clunky as heck but wanted to get something in this week. I think it's kind of fun, at least it was fun to play over lol.

This is a nice loop! Getting some very nice Shoji Meguro vibes from it in a muted sort of way (mostly from the lead guitar tone, the chord progression and the feisty rhythm.) Awesome work!

Suhweet loop and love the feel of the guitars throughout.  Makes me feel like I'm sippin a drink under a tiki hut on a tropical island smile  Awesome work for such a last min description.  Really love the panning and tone of the guitars.  Had to listen twice cuz the ending made me want more!  Well done! +1 Guitar_Noodling

Great loop find from the archives. Sounds great and you had fun so that’s all that matters!

i would not have heard that opening loop and thought "ah, Cursory," but you totally made it your own.
i really miss sitting around with friends and listening to someone noodle a bit. these gifts from you, Tone Matrix, etc really put me in that mindset. i think i'm also still thinking of mzunguko's comment last week about sitting around a campfire with all of us. smile
anyway, really nice playing here as usual! i like the bass a lot too

As little as this might seem, this feels very complete.

A change of pace for you! I really like it, glad it came out of the archives. Breezy, chill vibes that I wouldn't have minded for a bit longer!

The drums came in and I thought it was going to be a jungle or DnB track for a second. Nice and easy instrumental.

Thanks! This is good listening homework for me.

Thanks so much! Chilling on a tropical island sounds lovely, my partner has made similar comments about other tracks of mine so maybe this is secretly where I'd like to be haha.

Yeah it's a bit different for sure. I guess Weeklybeats really is like a virtual campfire we all sit around and listen to each other. This is a lovely thought haha. Thanks for the kind words, bass was super fun to play.

A change was needed this week smile Thanks so much, I ran out of ideas to make it any longer lol Two minutes is already pushing it for improvised guitar for me.

I would be hopeless trying to make either haha, thank you smile

This is sooo smooth and delicious. Been rewatching Bosch lately and this takes me right back to the space some of the jazz and lounge music in that show exists within - really fantastic.

Thanks so much! Ooohh that's wonderful, cool to hear what kind of vibe comes across - I had a hard time really identifying this for myself.

Smooth and beautiful jazzy guitars in here. The Bassline is very delicious too. Love your tasteful playing.
