Intentions and Love

Happy Week 12!

Back on my usual instrumentation of acoustic, electric/slide guitar, bass, (MIDI) drums, and vocals. This one very much feels like a sibling track to Week 7 in terms of style/vibe. Not breaking new ground by any means, but I’m overall happy with how it turned out. That said, I don’t think I’m capable of playing slide guitar without shamelessly ripping off George Harrison lol. Vocals were tough and double-tracking on pitch was tougher... could spend another week just trying to get it right but good enough for now.

Content-wise, last week I heard about some cats abandoned outside of an animal shelter in a box - such a sad thing but hoping they are loved and care for. The thought of abandoning a pet is hard for me to grasp. My brain’s first instinct can be to pass judgment, which is a dangerous thing left alone. Thinking about how easy it is to villainize a person whose perspective I’ll never know and the circumstances that leave folks with tough choices. Wishing everyone the best.

Your best song yet imo! Good work:) mix is spot on

Oh man I love the vocals but that slide guitar gets me every time. Very real goosebumps, tugging right at the heartstrings. This is just wonderful.

I love the slide guitar in this track, and the mix and vocal processing (as always) are sooooo good. I also very much relate to the lyrics.  It's hard to remember that what we imagine to be true and what is true are necessarily true... it's a constant battle.  Great song!

beautiful. that melody is so tasty and everything else supports it so gracefully.
and i am always here for George slide rips heart

"Some chaos controls the mind"
Hehe, chaos control. Nice. tongue
Seriously though, this is a really nice song! Love the pitch bending guitar harmonies.

Great composition and the vocals are on point. Really well done!

Would never tell from your avatar that this is the music you're making. This is full of character, and I'm here for it! I could give you a number of things this reminds me of but let me just say I dig the track as is. It's a proper song, which is a big accomplishment for a weekly beat. Great work!

lol "George slide rips" feels like it could be its own genre. Thank you, you're too kind.

Oh no... I can't believe I didn't connect the dots. Flashbacks to being frozen for 20 seconds in SA2B multiplayer. Thank you!

Haha maybe I'm in need of an update... I was thrown by the 60x60 limit and resorted to an online MS paint clone to make something that size. Thanks so much for the kind words smile
