Feeling Swell

By Cursory on October 26, 2024 9:49 pm

Happy Week 43! Some atmospheric guitar swells this week, some sounds I’ve enjoyed from the Chroma Console pedal. I might have actually liked the swells to be a bit slower than the pedal allows. My WB productivity seems to ebb and flow every few weeks, but I’m getting more okay with being in an eb. Hopefully more high-effort, multi-track things coming soon. This feels like it could be the outro of another song, and I’m sure I’ve heard some similar things before. Very behind on replying to comments (and listening) again, but they really are so appreciated smile

Moody and foggy, it would be indeed a great outro.

I get the ebb and flow, and being okay with that is part of why Weekly Beats is so great. My approach to it is "one wild card per session", which I essentially interpret as having at least one small element that's not like what I did in the weeks before. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, because that "wild card" is my main growth focus and the track is a tangible result of that experience. Not all of them will be equally polished and successful and that's A-OK. Keeping the streak alive this year was important for me and that alone made me learn so much. It's fantastic.

Reminds me of driving in Rhode Island near the water.  Windows down, cold breeze in my face, smiling at the patterns in the stars.  Such a comforting warm sound. Definite outro vibes smile

I love those lofi pedal sounds. They remind me of the good old times, when life wasn’t digital and cold. I know that I am wrong, because the chroma console works digital too. But still, your track is beautiful warm and nostalgic for me.

i'm floating in Lake Michigan, sunspots drifting by, lingering taste of fresh-picked blueberries heart

Usually synesthesia is between sound and sight but this almost a track you can taste? It just has that nice visceral texture. moving and beautiful. thanks

I feel those swells. big_smile That low end fuzz works wonders. Beautiful work!

can't have flows without ebs. This almost felt like hearing an organ outside a concert hall. Maybe influenced by other comments with the beach imagery but it's kind of a goodbye to summer.

Great tone and mood you created. Introspective and contemplative. A sunset, an evening. Are you liking the Chroma so far?

Nice interlude between your other songs. Might be able to extend those swell tails with a reverb? It's good as is though. It's a different angle from you other work. Very cool to listen to.

Coincidently, I did a guitar track similar in execution to this one this week (Week 45). Rather then user a envelope pedal it's all manual volume swelling though. Similiar to the stuff I was doing in college before all the electronic stuff.
