Kinetic Mango

By Cosmic Cairns on March 13, 2026 1:25 am

A little instrumental thing I threw together with some "vocals" spoken through a toy megaphone.  The outro is a fun little preset on my pod pedal that reverses your guitar in real time as you play it.  I've used it in the past a little, but I kind of forgot about it. I stumbled on it again and it is really fun to play with.

boppin along! Fun track. Can't go wrong with reversed guitar

That's such a cool effect! I dig the rest of the track too, fun vibes all around. big_smile

fantastic romp!

Love those arpy synths and the frantic pace of the piano.  Really cool megaphone effect and made me feel like I was flying through an asteroid field yikes Awesome outro too!

There is a little bit of a Fiery Furnaces vibe here, I love how fun and unhinged this track is.

I picture a garage full of aliens jamming along to 60s rock. The piano bounces like Carole King on "One Fine Day." The bass races like a James Bond score. And the reversed outro ends up sounding sweet and gentle after all that gain.

But the B-sections are my favorite. The buzz synth + arp are silly and fun. The opera vox feels 5th Element futuristic. And the drums keep it rocking. (Plus, the countdown with the "uh-huhs" made me giggle)

I always loved your humorous playing and experimenting. So I do now.

fun!

This is just wholesome fun. Joyous. Love it.

I have always been a fan of reversed guitar sounds.

Gotta watch out for those asteroids!

Now that you mention it, I can actually see that comparison.  Thanks!

I like the image of alien garage rockers.  Thanks for listening!

Thanks!!!

I love that unexpected chord where you move at 0.25, also the distant synth note sound is sublime. I love how here the more happy go lucky "verse" interplays with the more ominous and distant b-part or "Chorus" smile. Great one!

Thanks!  I like a little bit of a mood change between sections sometimes, as long as it's not too jarring.

I really like that wavetable synth(?) that comes in!!
Lots of really interesting textures in this, and a great driving rhythm section!!

Whoa, a fun bop. Wanna dance a little. Kinetic mango it is.

Thanks!  It's certainly fun to just play with textures sometimes.
