Kanna v2

Maybe if I stop waiting until the last minute to try and mix these 40 track projects they wouldn't sound the way they do.

Did another reboot from 2022 with some vocals and a lot more production.  The lyrics are about some kind of Beatle juice type of guy I think.

Also, sorry I'm still trying to catch up on listening to a lot of peoples stuff and discover some new people this year.  Will try and get there this week.

Lyrics:

My heart, my souls been, bled out, Times frozen
I know that I won't get out

I won't rest until these streets run bloody red
Until the voices in my head are satisfied

My mind, consumed, visions, death looms
You know that you won't get out

I won't rest until the sky is raining ash, until society's collapse
Yes I, will burn it to the ground

Beautiful robotic vocals and harmonies. heart Are the lyrics for this track and last week's track available anywhere for reading along?

Thanks!  Yeah, just updated the submission with the lyrics.  Will do last weeks too.

Oooh glad the lyrics are up cuz they're awesome.  "until the sky is raining ash, until society's collapse" \m/ hail yais!  Thru the burning synth part the guitars have a triumphant sound to them adding a nice touch.  The glitchy part gave me some beetlejuice getting face twitched/matrix-glitched back to where he came from vibes smile

I really like the vibe there. It is very unusual to have vocals panned right, but so are the crazy robotic sounds so it works very good to me. Fun listen.

great bass and guitar work. Love the oscillating feel of all the sounds. Dig the robot vocals. Overall wonderful arrangement. Favorited!

So cool! huge sound and composition! feels nice and laid back, and somehow feels longer than 3 minutes. the second movement with the heavy guitars is awesome! not sure about the ending but who am I to say, I have done plenty of weird endings hahah. This track might be a good example that once you go through a bunch of weekly songs it's good sometimes to revisit stuff and try to make it as good as possible (which could mean working on it for more than a week - I should def try that at some point).
I just listened to the old Kanna as well and it's also cool but more raw / not as refined as this version.

love this! yeah beautiful arrangement, wonderful guitar work, and the vocal is wicked. favorited!

Cool huge sounding arrangement on this and I love the way that guitars just get so loud and nasty.  I like weird experimental endings, too, so I thought the outro was cool.

I enjoy the vocal cadence. The swirling section midway through is entrancing. Did not expect to rocking out like that! Pleasant surprise. Cool track!

This was an epic track. The guitarsolo at the end is really making goosebumps.

The voice treatment reminds me of the track that Kavinsky did for Drive. The music has an epic sense. That solo at 2:10 is MAGIC!!! Wow you captured something absolutely perfect there! Melodic and full of energy. Superb track!

Sick track! digging the whole new vibe. Sounds like you're really challenging yourself keep it up!

Sweet mix! The bass tone warm and present, not lost.  The vocoder is a nice addition. Strong Flaming Lips space rock vibe. Love it!!

Ooo, nice space rock jam with a tasteful use of the robotic vocals for the vibe. Bad ass guitar solo in the second half.

Hell yeah, brother.

Haha, the vocal pan was definitely some sort of glitch in Logic that I am now noticing after you pointed it out!  Definitely not intended but actually sounds kind of cool with the delay in the other ear.  Thanks for listening!

Thanks!  Yeah, lots of oscillation in there.  I can't complete a project anymore without using tremolo and/or pingpong delay on most of the tracks.

Thanks dude!  Yeah, the ending is way too long.  It's chaotically decimated audio, fed through Crystalizer & Echo Boy with really high feedback levels.  I didn't realize how long the tail was before bouncing, but definitely overkill.  And I will definitely be coming back to this one, lots of stuff still to fix/finalize.

Thanks!  Haha, yeah the outdo definitely went on a lot longer than planned.  I do love weird shit like that though.

Thanks man!  I wasn't sure about the heavy outro at first but glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks, glad you liked this one!  Oh shit, I didn't recognize the name Kavinsky but just checked out the song Nightcall and its definitely sounding familiar.  Very cool stuff.  We probably took a similar approach, just like low power chords with a vocoder and compressed/saturated to shit.

Thanks man!  Yeah, love to get weird with it some times.

Thanks, glad you're into it!  That's the jazz bass on this one, love that thing.
