Sueño Portugues

It was a weird week shifting between a lack of focus and a couple of short runs of hyperfocus. I started a d&b tune on Sunday night, got uptight about it by Tuesday, then pivoted late in the week after a friend told me that MPC received a version 3.9 update.

I doodled out the MPC drums at 130 and then brought everything into Logic for some additional flavors. The pad is a straight drop in from a sample pack. The acid patch came out of Analog Lab. The e-piano is Zenology. The vocal is from Riya's Loopmasters. The zaps and bloops and little bass stabs are all sample pack one shots. There was/is a huge amount of low end on the MPC kick. That forced the other bass (gforce SEM) into a bit of a supporting role.

Overall, this was a somewhat cliched trance/prog effort, but I liked the groove. It needs work to get a professional polish, but I am pleased with the compositional bones. It was also nice to sequence something out into a full song for once.

That is a fat kick and really digging the interplay with the supporting bass you mentioned!

It definitely "starts" when the acid line comes in - it's bringing a groove that really starts to push the track along. This is definitely worth finishing - like you said, all the bones are there and most of the hard parts are done, and it all sounds great so far!

admittedly not a style i'm particularly knowledgeable about, but this feels
CERTIFIED FRESHHHHHHHH

Love the spacey feel from all the fx and the deep kick.  The drum groove is infectious with the sweet acid line and had me movin in my chair! smile Well done!

I’m digging it. The dubby drums really set the vibe for me, but the whole thing is pretty rich. I was straight away trying to work out the vocals, but Riya of course. I’m sure it’s not the bit you intended, but after the 6min mark to the end I really enjoyed. Nice work

Great stuff! A rich and relaxing track! The acid line is great! The whole thing takes me back a bit my high school years when I was listening a lot of progressive trance.

This is sick. Feels huge but restrained. Great work!
