Nature's Promise

By Bunjigram on March 10, 2024 10:22 pm

My very first weekly beat was a soft jazzy piano improv I called "Sunday Afternoon", since that how I was feeling on that cold, January Sunday afternoon on week 3 of Weekly Beats 2024. I was a little late to the game, but I'm trying to stay true to this weekly motivation to create music. For this week, I decided to return to that same jazz chord progression, but to be a bit more up tempo on the right hand improv marking a transition from the shorter, colder days of winter to the longer, greener, and blossoming days of an emerging spring. Hence the name "Nature's Promise", a piano jazz sketch in Cmaj7, performed on the Kawai ES8 digital piano.

Great improv! Spring has certainly sprung. My backyard groundhog emerged from his burrow today. I like the up and down ebb and flow you have here. Mellow and sweet, mostly uplifting but tinged with a bit of tension like thawing frost. The outro is like a blooming flower. Very nice.

Listening to this on the other end of the year, in autumn, it feels just as appropriate. Nature bustling with a different sort.
