After getting a hold of a couple of Volcas (The NuBass and Sample 2), I decided to use them in this week's track.

I used a random pattern generated by ABL3 to live record the NuBass. I added a couple effects to the mix to boost the track a bit.

I then separately recorded a kick and snare pattern out of the Sample 2 using a drum pattern generator player. I doubled up the kick and added additional percussion with an UMPF drum machine.

For the bass line, I used an FM synth and a analog style synth doubling the same line. I mixed these into a buss to gel them together with some chorus.

I finally added a synth with some randomly generated CV signals to add an additional element.

After EQing and adding some effects, I mixed (with automation) and mastered the track.

Another great acid jam from BTS.

I've been curious about the NuBass for a while but was never able to find good examples of it at work. How do you like it? The session sounds great to me. I kind of like that it's not another exact 303 clone.

I think it the NuBass has a different enough sound to stand out from a typical 303 or clone, but it still gets that acid sound. It also has a wider window when it comes to adjusting the sounds (you can make adjustments and not get too far out of the previous sound).

The micro knobs can take some getting used to, but it's hard to beat for the price. Especially if you can get it used

Thanks for the feedback and the question. I appreciate it!

You convinced me tongue I'll start looking for a used one for decent price. I pretty rarely buy new.
