Echoes of the Velvet Night

By BTS on March 8, 2026 8:24 pm

I started this week's track in Bitwig, intending to create a couple of pieces to feed into Paulstretch to create more ambient/Berlin School.

However, once I finished with the Bitwig Elements, I found that I didn't really like the stretched elements as much as I liked the original parts.

So, I took the original parts and brought them into Reason, creating a unified track with an output bus.

I then exported out the MIDI I stretched in Bitwig and imported it into Reason. It was tricky get everything to align, which added a bit of wonkiness that I found interesting, especially after adding an arpeggiator. I decided to enhance that feeling further with additional modulation effects.

After EQing and mixing, I added some mastering and exported the finished track.

Love how spacious and sparkly this is!

Lots of bouncing between DAWs. I always like that process. I used to do that more. The outcome you got is interesting. I am glad it didn't end up paul-stretched.

Thanks for the listen! I appreciate it!
