Jinn Desert

I made all these recordings in 1 day after submitting week 4. I then started a big road trip so I have been away from the studio. I was working a bunch on another set of recordings trying to make the week 5 submission but I realized that song could not be completed with the material recorded. I opened this one up and easily saw a path to finish.

Inspired by whispy howls in the desert.

I played all marimba lines, uke, darbuka, ghost snare, rims, hats. My darbuka is a little sloppy but the idea is there. I made the bass line by shifting the uke line down 1 octave (one of my stylistic techniques).

Really enjoyed this!

Great composition and scales!

Very exotic, and toasty. Though the marimba with these drum patterns do invoke the jungle a bit.
