Thanks philiip, such nice words. There is not a big secret to this one as far as sound selection goes. A big part of the sound is the guitars, which were recorded and processed by Monte Blau. Other than that, I made a simple FM (operator) bass, used slightly modified retro machines dirty saw lead (native instruments kontakt) presets to make some of the synths. Made a rhodes group using distorted rhodes I made with Analog, layered with some rhodes from Kontakt library. Drums are some live recordings I made, layered with some backbeats and more computer sounding stuff from kontakt libraries or our own sample libraries. From there the mixing is probably the biggest part of the sound. Lot's of saturation and distortion!

We are going to do another song in this realm next week so I am making a template for it. I can walk you through that or send it to you if you use Ableton Live 10.
