Last night I've had the chance to be one of the people who had the chance to witness Dirtywave M8 Firmware 4.0 Beta Meetup live. I was patiently waiting for it to be released to participate in this week's weekly beats because I knew it would feed my inspiration pool (which dried up a bit lately because, life...)

The new capabilities of the device added by this firmware was more than enough to spark an excitement to explore new sound design possibilities. Especially new stuff like the (pleasantly screamy) ZDF Filters, Rectifier distortion and Wavsynth wavetables were super exciting for me.

Normally I'm a person who uses "things" gently and moderately when it comes to sound design. But this time I wanted to go over the top and create something suuuuper noisy and harmonic using these new additions to the firmware. Thanks to the new EQ pool, it's possible to "tame" the harshness a bit even if you go all in. This track is the result of this "exploration". I was simply mesmerized by the ability of "scanning" a 8-bit wavetable and pushing it to the hell and back using Rect distortion 2.

No samples, all sounds from internal synth engines.

Enjoy!

Extremely cool timbres on here! The heavily-filtered pad is fantastic, and the drums come across with impact. Nicely done!

Very very cool stuff. Awesome to hear your explorations of the new features!!! Looking forward for more!
