Out On Strike

By blighters_rock on March 24, 2024 8:25 pm

Two weeks in a row of voice memos recordings. Next week I will get the band back together for sure.

It was a super busy week, with band practice or gigs every day from Wed - Sat. I'm pretty musically wiped out, and this refrain is a reflection of that.

Oh hey, only 40 more! Let's keep it going, friends!

almost 1/4 of the way through the year!

and nice chord progression

I can hear the exhaustion. Haha. But still a nice chord progression with a catchy melody. We’re hanging in there!

You have a lot of great chord progressions, always enjoy listening even if it’s short.

And wow you’re doing other music stuff on top of weekly beats!!?? Damn keep it up!

Keep it up! Even those little memos are fun listen. smile

Only 40 songs left to write...

Nice! It's a catchy hook, something I could definitely see expanded on in the future. The "Some___" structure for the lyrics makes it easy to follow too, a trait I'm just now recognizing the value of (since, as you probably know, I don't focus on lyrics as much when writing). Like, if you're a person who's listening to the song and attempting to sing along but you can't remember the words, at minimum you'll probably remember "It starts with somehow or sometimes" which kick starts your memory of the rest of the verse. Something I'll probably keep in mind when I write lyrics in the future. Not bad for a voice memo session.

I actually quite enjoy these little musical diary entries of yours when you're short on time or just don't have the energy that week. It's really interesting to hear what you come up with. I thought this one was particularly good. I enjoyed the chord progression and the melody was really nice as well.

Very authentic and  understandable.

Alternate title: "How to get back in the saddle by singing about how you're not back in the saddle"

The line "...but I still got another 40 songs to write" landed pretty hard. tongue

I enjoyed hearing this and the take of writing a song about being dry on inspiration, also set the bar really low and then I think made me appreciate it haha. I enjoyed.

you have melodies for days, even when yr tired

blighters rock, the originator of the "refusalcore" genre - a genre of music characterized by not wanting to make music

again, your low effort stuff is so good it's BORDERLINE obnoxious

Thanks, mate. This comment (and esp my own genre label) really made my day.
