Started with some noodling on the bass, then added drums, then guitar, keys.
Things I like:
- I like how the verse section turned out. The space between the bass and guitar sounds cool.
- The offset guitar octaves at the end
Mix/recording comments:
- Not super happy with the synth tone
- Lead guitar tone needs lots of work (so does the playing, but that's another story)
- I really fought with the highs in the drums. The hi-hats were really screaming through the overheads, and I think it came out sounding a little unnatural once I tried to tame it.
- I'd like to get the snare sounding a bit more consistent. Sometimes it really punches, but sometimes it's a little thin or shrill.
