Heavy Metal

By blighters_rock on January 30, 2022 8:24 pm

I met the god of wine
asked him to fill my cup
he offered me one wish
"turn gold to everything I touch"

He looked at me and smiled
you might want to give it up
"Oh no, I'm never satisfied"
I want the the midas touch

(Chorus)
Gold flowing from my fingers
A body full of greed
So ask nothing: what you wish for
never comes for free

Next morning I awoke with joy
looks like my dream came true
Golden roses everywhere I go
Golden clothes, and golden shoes

My daughter came to me and cried
"dear father what have you done"
"I've make the world a brighter place,
or at least a heavier one"

Chorus

Oh Dionysus, God of
wine and revelry
Take back this curse, have mercy,
and set my daughter free

I'm really enjoying your lyric writing haha. It was an entertaining story. The mention of "god of wine" immediately made me think of the guitar rhythm as something inspired by Hades. Also the saxophone is a nice touch of exploration.

these lyrics are so good. the melodies their harmonies work so well too. this rocks heavy

Nice kick sound!

Awesome song writing man, very easy to listen to.  I like the vocal harmonies you do in the chorus, they add so much.

Thumbs up!!! Love this track.

YO you totally stepped up the production!  drums sounds awesome, great vocal presence WOW - wait do you play trumpet too????  okay you are like my new best friend

very cool how the title took a secret meaning regarding actual a heavy burden of a literal metal.  favorited and downloaded.  I got your note about vocal chain, i'm going to take some screenshots and i'll post later, but whatever you did this week really stepped it up!  That's my favorite thing about WB - it's almost difficult to NOT improve

I downloaded and already have this on repeat, this is so good.

now i have to ask you: tell me how you recorded the drums!!

Awesome! Love the brass and drums and the lyrics and vocals are great!

Came in expecting heavy metal, wasn't expecting heavy feels instead

Thanks! I feel the lyrical pressure now. I totally hear the Hades vibe now that you mention it.

I'm trying to let loose and just write whatever comes to mind. I started on a completely different topic, but as soon as I penned a "midas touch" line, the whole song changed gears and went that way. I appreciate you listening

I've been struggling with this! I just swapped my beater around from the felt to the plastic side for this week, so I guess that has been a positive change for the sound. Thanks!
