Welcome to the Jazz Dimension.

We've been expecting you. Please, have a seat, grab a drink and make yourself comfortable.

It's safe to say I'm pretty in love with this sonic setting I've been playing with, this week is no different. This is an Andalusian cadence in C minor (Cm, Bb, Ab, Gm) then moved up a forth to use the same cadence down from F (Fm, Eb, D, Cm). Aside from the usual bass, drums, and vibraphone, I added guitar to the mix after agonizing over how to bring it in appropriately. I recorded a bunch of different jazzy lines but they all felt like they were serving my ego and not the song so I scrapped them and went with something simple.

Happy week 14!

You got so many styles, man. I love this. The strings are amazing and captivating. When the guitars come in, it's also so powerful. Awesome!

Really digging the noir vibe of the last couple weeks. That guitar was awesome, too! Your instincts were spot on - it fit perfectly.

Amazing track! Especially love the bass smile

The entrance of that first chord after the blast off of an opening was really nice.  The whole thing has a really chilled out vibe.  It's a little mysterious and contemplative, but it feels like a nice place to take a break from the world.

Love the Andalusian Cadence.  Some of fav tracks have used that hypnotic progression.  The epiano sounds so peaceful and those pad swells have a mournful sound to them giving this such a lovely feel.  Giving me some Twin Peaks vibes when the guitar comes in so sweet too.  Excellent work!

This was another triumph. Intent and execution smashing together perfectly, such an amazing mood.

I didn't know it was your track (it was playing on the background), loved those e-pianos top melodies with the cools synths layers and fun delayed guitar and upright bass.

Super nice. Well played.

very smooth and enjoyable. superb sound selection as well

I love the vibe on this one. I saw Twin Peaks in the tags and you really nailed that atmosphere when the guitar came in. Good stuff!

That bassline is taking it's sweet time... And I am so here for it. Masterful.

Drearily beautiful. heart Boy, some days I could use a little r&r in the jazz dimension.

Oh man, the jazz dimension, it's dirty, but it's so smooth

world weary, sad, but a kernel of hope. very much my shit

I'm glad you liked it, I wanted it to be sort of an audio palate cleanser. Fills your senses then disappears leaving room for dreamy pianos.

It's such a great progression. One of the first songs I learned on guitar was Stray Cat Strut which uses the same progression. Thank you!

It's just such an iconic soundtrack. I'm happy I was able to do it justice.

I'm really glad you like it. This kinda thing is my jam too and I definitely am going to make an album out of it. The bass is an FM patch on the M8. If I remember correctly it's 3 operators are a sin wave, one a square and there is a tiny pitch envelope that gives it a bit of a percussive sound. Ping me on discord later if you want me to look it up and share.

nice!
and that's ok, i wouldn't know what to do with it. was just curious  smile

what a mood - this is gorgeous
