Processional of the Damned

By BarristerPlong on June 20, 2026 11:33 pm

This week was extremely busy what little time I had for music left me with uninspired results, so I decided it was time for a krell patch.
I made this on my minifreak vst. It's such a wild synth that lends itself very well to generative patches like Krell patches. I really enjoy making these kinds of patches, they are a very happy place for me.

this made me float out of my chair and become possessed. thank you

damn this is legit creepy and unnerving, holy crap!!! amazingly done. you were able to evoke such a strong feeling from the jump! also, there's one voice in there that kind of sounds like an unnaturally long werewolf howl. very, very upsetting. hahahahahahaha... incredible work!

This sounds *evil* in the best way. Hell yeah.

I need to look into what a krell patch is now. This is a great unsettling atmosphere. I like the quicker sounds in it too. Great little accents that brings it to life. Very nice.

Ooof those lil flaring parts give ya goosebumps yikes  The spirits are among us! I can't see em but I hear em! yikes  Love the anxious unsettling feel this has.  Well done!

Great ominous and scary vibe right from the start and doesn't let up.  This would be great Halloween music.

Unsettling. I think that's the highest praise in this case. heart

Its like a whole nest of sonic creatures wailing a funeral dirge as they descend into the underworld and the madness therein. Delightful!

O.O

As in, this track is “damned” cool? 😎

Awesome job capturing a pervasive sense of dread with these droning synths!

I'm afraid your chairs warrantee doesn't cover hauntings.

Krell patches are generative patches inspired by the movie Forbidden Planet's score which aimed to create strange alien music. This song is just me holding down the B key, the patch is doing everything itself. It is completely unpredictable and uncontrollable. I create a randomness generator, attach parameters to it, and tweak until it's something I could zone out to.

Thank you! The sharp ghost uwus are one of the oscilators getting detuned with respect to the pitch. So the high pitch notes detune sweep quickly and the lower notes drone it out.

Hell yeah. This is just one patch on the minifreak and me holding down a key for 4 minutes. One of the oscillators is a dedicated drone and the other is doing everything else. Thank you!
