I knew I wanted to do something inspired by the Deathguard this week as their slow inevitable doom marches lend itself well to something slow and brutal.
The

› first synth

you hear was where it began. It felt a lot like the opening synth in Pink Floyd's 'On the Run' which led me to shape the section with some distorted echoing coms and a brief introduction to the melody with

› second synth

.
The second section introduces my

› distorted 7 string

in drop A alongside a church bell sample I got from Freesound.org that is tuned to A so it's harmonious with the guitar. The second synth returns with an expanded melody while the drums gradually build up in the background.
The third section is my 7 string and the second synth returning to the basic melody.
In sections two and three you can hear some faint chanting which is my gravelly voice chanting 'Aya chia hassayah'
And that's it! I wanted to make something slow, brutal, inevitable and unsettling.
Happy week 8 everyone! heart

I'm loving the environmentals in this one. The noisy element (37 secs) in the intro sounds like scrambled comms. At 1:25 we have lovely atmopsherics as a lush pensive beat before the herald descends to call the banners for war.

OK when and where to I go to a BarristerPlong show, because I'm there in a heartbeat. I love me some space stoner doom metal, this is so good!

Amazing track!

The beginning is some total top tier Floyd and it's awesome how it slowly gets overtaken by the doom metal.  These vibes totally go well together.

This was on air during weeklymeets after 2:30am my time, so I was literally hit by my phone in the face at some point as I was falling asleep. But I knew I wanted to return here to the Vangelisian/Floydian arp and the glorious guitars.

Now hearing this properly I can only say this is a triumph. Massive, eerie, sinister. Very immersive and cinematic as well. Could be a great fit for some visual or interactive work.

No notes, five stars.

this is so good. metal ambient

That is some heavy shit! Love the melody line at 4m .

"oooooooooooooh!" is what i just said out loud cuz that arp is dreamy and hypnotic! The guitar growls with the synth are an awesome epic wall of sound! and then the drums!? hell yes! \m/ Love how the synth wavers in and out.  Such a cool tone on the guitar.  The chants were a nice touch too.  A triumphant track for sure! Faved!

frickin' epic, dude heart

I closed my eyes and saw armies preparing for battle. Epic!

That's the plan someday! I worry other musicians will see me as a fraud or an imbecile so I struggle to get together with other musicians to jam. My dream is to get up on stage with a full set and crew. If that ever happens, I will tag you. heart

Thanks! Yeah that opening synth has such a strong association with Pink Floyd for me, I was surprised how well it melded with my doom.

Thank you so much! I'm so happy you came back to it! I would love for my work to be used in some art or video game piece, I would be honored. I very much would like to work on video game OSTs some day, that is the dream.
